Alberto Mori

Alberto Mori is a specialist in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Corporate Law with over 25 years’ experience in Brazil and the United States. He led many successful M&A projects, coordinating audits, negotiating acquisitions contracts, sales of business, equity holdings and joint ventures for Brazilians and foreigners’ clients. Mr. Mori also advised many foreign groups to start their business in Brazil by implementing their local structure or assisting them in hiring trade partners. He led several domestic and international corporate restructuring, including the formalization of multi-jurisdictional deals.

Alberto Mori was born in France and lived there for 15 years. Later in life, he worked for 1 year and 5 months at Baker & McKenzie in Chicago. He frequently advises French and English speaking clients. He ministered presentations to foreign investors at the United States, Canada, Japan, China and Mexico. Because of his acquaintance with Japanese culture, Mr. Mori advises many Japanese clients. His regular trips to China helped him to build an extensive portfolio of Chinese clients. Alberto Mori is member the French Chamber of Commerce Legal Committee (which he has already chaired) and a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Legal Committee (which he was the vice president). He is the coordinator of Diversity and Social Responsibility Commission at Centro de Estudos de Escritórios de Advogados – CESA, a member of the Canadian Chambers of Commerce Diversity Commission and also dedicates time integrating several NGOs Councils.

Beatriz Tilkian

Maria Beatriz is partner in the Employment & Labor Law area at our São Paulo office. Attorney with more than 13 years’ experience, she focuses in labor consulting and litigation areas, as well as judicial and administrative proceedings.  Maria Beatriz advises companies in the conduct of risk assessment in compensation plans, profit sharing plans, social security matters, occupational health and safety, internal investigations and collective bargains.

Among her main clients are companies in the pharmaceutical, civil construction, maritime, mining, telecommunication, investment funds, entertainment and marketing sectors.

For eight years, Maria Beatriz dedicated her time volunteering as an assistant professor of Labor Law at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo.

Danilo Fernandes Monteiro

Danilo Monteiro advises in the Tax Litigation area at our Curitiba office. He has over 12 years’ experience and works in administrative and judicial litigation at the municipal, state and federal levels. He performs outstanding work before administrative courts, such as the Paraná State Taxpayers’ Council and the Administrative Tax Appeals Board (CARF). He is extremely dedicated to his clients and works intensively to identify opportunities to reduce businesses’ tax burden, including the recovering tax overpayments, managing tax liabilities and representing clients in audits.

Mr. Monteiro’s main clients come from the automotive, manufacturing, agricultural manufacturing, civil, service and retail industries.

Mr. Monteiro is a member of the Brazilian Institute of Financial Executives (IBEF/PR) and the Tax Law Committee of the Paraná Section of the Brazilian Bar Association.

Anete Mair Maciel Medeiros

Anete Medeiros is the partner responsible for our Brasília office. She has over 17 years’ experience as a lawyer and focuses her practice in our Tax Law area, mainly in tax litigation, and in our Civil Procedure area. She has broad experience before appellate courts in Brasília, as well as before the Administrative Tax Appeals Board, the Federal Regional Appellate Court and the Federal District Court of Justice.

Ms. Medeiros is a tax law and civil procedure professor in Brasília. She is also a frequent lecturer at trade associations and has published various articles in specialized journals, books and magazines.

Vitor Dantas Dias

Vitor Dias works in the Judicial and Administrative Tax Litigation areas at our Belo Horizonte office. He has over 12 years’ experience and represents clients at the municipal, state and federal levels, both at trial and on appeal. He performs outstanding work on a national level in conflict resolution and administrative and judicial litigation, appearing before administrative law judges, administrative law panels, state taxpayer boards and the Administrative Tax Appeals Board (CARF).

Mr. Dias represents companies in a broad range of industries, including automotive, mining, construction, retail, food services, hotel, information technology and communications.

Márcio da Rocha Medina

Márcio Medina is the partner responsible for our Belo Horizonte office. He has over 20 years of experience, including experience at Big Four accounting firm. He focuses in the tax and corporate law areas advising clients with Tax Consulting, Tax Planning, Tax Litigation and Corporate Consulting. Márcio Medina, advises clients from various economy sectors, particularly in Minas Gerais, including mining, retail, sevices and industries in general.

He is a professor in graduate degree courses at Fundação Dom Cabral, Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (PUC/MG) e IBMEC. Jorge Luiz de Brito Júnior

Jorge Brito is partner in the Tax Litigation area at our São Paulo office. He focuses on litigation concerning tax matters and advises companies on issues ranging from strategic representation in tax audits to the defense of taxpayers at the administrative level and in appellate courts. He has 17 years’ experience and also works in matters involving e-commerce, financial regulation of payment arrangements and technology, including startups.

Mr. Brito represents clients in various industries, including agribusiness, construction, capital goods production/long-term contracts and foreign trade.

Mr. Brito is a member of the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law (IBDT) and of the São Paulo State Bar Association. Jorge is a former judge of the Tax and Fees Court of the State Department of Finance (TIT/SP).

Heitor Cesar Ribeiro

Heitor Ribeiro is partner in the Tax Consulting area at our São Paulo office. He has over than 18 years’ experience and focuses his work on direct taxes, particularly the CSLL, cumulative, noncumulative and special rate PIS/COFINS, PIS/COFINS-import, IOF, ISS and CIDE taxes, as well as transfer pricing, taxation of transfers of funds abroad and tax withholding for the PIS/COFINS, CSLL, IRRF and INSS taxes.
